| Duties: |
The Laboratory has an opening for an entry level Public Health Microbiologist-I
(PHM-I). We are seeking a motivated, team oriented, individual to join our virology
division. The main role of this position is to receive clinical infectious disease
specimens, determine if specimens meet submissions requirements, and perform pre-testing
quality assurance tasks. |

| Qualifications: |
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in basic science, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. Solid communication skills required.
Preference will be given to candidates with aseptic technique experience, good
computer skills, and knowledge of basic laboratory equipment. Prior experience
performing QA/QC, preparing and logging in specimens, and preparing media is highly
desirable. The hours of work are from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
