We invite you to consider furthering your career by joining the UHL
in one of the following:
|
Utilize the skills learned in the classroom by applying them on the
job at one of the nations' leading state public health laboratories: The
University Hygienic Lab. Internships can take place during the fall,
spring or summer semesters, and may be paid or unpaid. Interns can
receive a notation on their transcript or course credit for work
completed at UHL while gaining valuable lab experience. Many UHL
internships require a minimum of 10 hours a week for eight weeks in the
summer, and 10 weeks during the fall and spring. Jobs must be 80 percent
professional work. |
|
In a practicum, students must complete a required contact-hour
project in a public health or environmental setting. Contact hours are
determined by the educational institution. This practicum experience,
including a final written report and oral presentation, constitutes the
final examination for course work within a university college, such as
the College of Public Health or the College of Liberal Arts and
Sciences. The practicum may be funded and approved for course
credit. |
