Iowa City or Ankeny, Iowa

Description:
The primary purpose of the internship is to develop a barcode inventory tracking system to be tracked in spreadsheets. An actual inventory of all UHL equipment will be conducted. This would include computers, all large laboratory equipment, refrigerators, etc. The purpose of the tracking system is to assure proper re-location of existing equipment to the new laboratory facility, clearing defining a space for all items in the system.

Desired Skills:
The student will have received training in the following areas:

  1. Flexible
  2. Attention to detail:
  3. Familiarity with bar coding practices and data input
  4. Ability to work in a diverse environment

Start/End Dates if specific: Begins on June 15; ends approximately August 14

Ongoing/variable/negotiable dates: Yes

Average number of hours/week expected: 30-40 a week (200 hours total)

Must all work take place on-site? Yes

Is tele-commuting possible for part of the work commitment? No
