Lab Link is an electronic newsletter that debuted in August 2009. The content includes coverage of activities by the Hygienic Laboratory - Iowa's public health and environmental laboratory. This monthly newsletter highlights the news and activities that effect the public health and environment of Iowans through the laboratory science, training and outreach conducted at UHL.

CLIA Corner

Do you need to stay current with the Federal CLIA laboratory requirements (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments)? Does your laboratory have the tools to provide quality testing for its clients and patients? UHL's CLIA Corner can help. This quarterly publication covers topical news and subjects for the clinical laboratory. UHL provides the personnel to oversee the CLIA program for the State of Iowa. The overall CLIA program is administrated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). For additional information about the CLIA program, go to www.cms.hhs.gov/clia.

Annual Report

Each year, the Hygienic Laboratory publishes an annual report to record outstanding events, financial and statistical reports, and advancements in public health and environmental laboratory practices. Publication follows our fiscal year, which begins July 1. Electronic versions are available on this website; hard copies are available by contacting the Hygienic Laboratory in Iowa City at 319-335-4500 (toll-free 800-421-IOWA) or in Ankeny at 515-725-1600.
